MAIN TOURIST ATTRACTIONS • La Cascade de Bras-Rouge: Located in the Bras-Rouge gorge on the old path towards Mafate, this waterfall has carved out several pools that make ideal picnic spots. The iron oxide that colours the water is one of its main attractions. • La Chapelle: Before the road was built, the journey to Ilet-à-Cordes could only be made via a path that dropped steeply into the Bras-Rouge River before climbing back up to the plateau. On the riverbed, huge basalt slabs form a striking natural feature known as “La Chapelle”. • Salazie: Home to the Bridal Veil, one of the island’s most spectacular sights. The eastern side of the caldera is covered in lush greenery, cut through by a multitude of waterfalls.
