1. Delhi
Stay
About the destination: Situated on the banks of the river Yamuna and in the northern part of the country, Delhi is the capital city of India and the home of the Government. Delhi is a massive, chaotic city, full of contrasts. While Delhi embodies modern India in many ways, due to its extensive history, it boasts numerous ancient and medieval monuments, archaeological sites and significant remains, and is considered one of the oldest existing cities in the world. Delhi is split between the narrow, overcrowded lanes of Old Delhi, including its main street Chandni Chowk, where little has changed in recent times, and the broad, clean tree-lined streets of New Delhi. The government and its offices are located in New Delhi, the official capital, while most of its historic neighbourhoods and monuments are in Old Delhi. Delhi has inherited an astonishing number of magnificent monuments from various architectural periods and it's a delight to wander around this captivating metropolis. However, the main tourist attractions not to be missed are the Red Fort, Humayun's Tomb, the Qutub complex, the National Museum, the largest mosque in India Jama Masjid, the India Gate, Gandhi Smriti, Lodi Gardens and the Lotus Temple. Mysterious and enchanting, Delhi is today a bustling cosmopolitan city with trendy lounge bars, themed restaurants, nice shops and everything you would expect from a modern capital city. Delhi is a city of the present and future, but it is deeply rooted in history and has a lot to show for it.

2. Isfahan
Stay
About the destination: Isfahan, also known as Esfahan, is a city in the centre of Iran, south of Tehran and is the capital of Isfahan Province. The Persians call it "Nesf-e-Jahan", meaning "Half The World". Due to its beautiful hand-painted tiling and magnificent public square, it's considered to be one of the most beautiful cities in the world. An ancient town and capital of Persia, it was long noted for its fine carpets and silver filigree. Today, textile and steel mills have taken their place. Its architecture, tree-lined boulevards and relaxed pace make it one of the highlights of Iran. The city has an Armenian Quarter called Jolfa (originally called New Julfa) established by Shah Abbas I in the 1600s after he destroyed the prosperous Armenian town of Julfa in Armenia and forced all of the Armenians to move to Persia, mostly to Isfahan. They were given land and rebuilt a prosperous community that was a key part of an Armenian trade network extending from Singapore and India to Venice and Amsterdam. Today the quarter still has many Armenian Churches, an Armenian school, shops and Armenian residents.

3. Istanbul
Stay
About the destination: Istanbul owes its historical significance and its incredible cultural and architectural heritage to its perfect strategic location, straddling the Bosphorus straits which separate Europe and Asia Minor. Throughout most of its 2,500-year-long history, the city (first known as Byzantium, then as Constantinople and since 1930 as Istanbul) was a cultural melting pot. Today, its population of over 13 million is almost exclusively Turkish, and many of its people are recent migrants from provincial Turkey, drawn by the promise of jobs and careers in this vibrant, rapidly growing city. Istanbul is no longer the nation's capital, but is Turkey's economic and cultural powerhouse - a status emphasised by its role as a European City of Culture in 2010 and the award of UNESCO World Heritage listing to many of its most important landmarks, which range from stunning Ottoman mosques and Byzantine churches and catacombs to the columns of Hellenistic temples and the remains of massive medieval city walls. But there's more to Istanbul than Byzantine and Ottoman heritage. A rapidly growing economy has contributed to a thriving arts and music scene, with a wealth of new bars, clubs, private art galleries, restaurants and designer fashion outlets.
